Dr Emily Volk

Owner/Veterinarian

Dr. Emily Volk started working in veterinary hospitals as a technician while still a teenager. She received her undergraduate degree from Hunter College of the City University of New York. Following that, she attended the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, followed by a clinical year at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, Dr. Volk stayed on as an anesthesia intern at the University of Pennsylvania for one year and then pursued a rotating internship at Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialists in New York City.

Dr. Volk’s career has focused on emergency medicine; however, she has also had extensive experience in community medicine in the nonprofit sector. Dr. Volk has held multiple leadership positions, including lead veterinarian of a nonprofit clinic and department head for the emergency service of Mount Laurel Animal Hospital.

Dr. Volk was born and raised in Philadelphia, where she still lives with her husband Adam, their three children, two sphynx cats, and one small terrier named John Doe. When not working, Dr. Volk spends her time sewing, reading, and learning to speak Spanish.

Dr. Volk is excited to bring the energy and efficiency of an emergency room to urgent care medicine.
